His Faith, Family, and Ministry
Pastor Kephas Rodo is the firstborn of four siblings. He is married to his wife, Pamela Obiero, and together, they are blessed with six children. His family life reflects his commitment to faith, responsibility, and service, which continues to shape his ministry calling.
Pastor Kephas Rodo is the founding pastor of Ongito Independent Baptist Church, located in Migori County, Kenya. He is called to faithfully preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to serve vulnerable children, widows, and struggling families within rural communities.
Through many years of ministry, Pastor Kephas has witnessed firsthand the challenges facing his community—children missing school due to lack of school fees, families struggling with food insecurity, and youth lacking guidance and opportunities. These realities have shaped his deep conviction that the local church must not only proclaim the Gospel but also respond to human need with compassion, wisdom, and biblical responsibility.
Beyond Ongito, Pastor Kephas has been used by God to plant six additional churches across the border in Tanzania. He has also initiated two Bible study groups across East Africa, strengthening discipleship and promoting sound biblical teaching in the region.
Under his leadership, the church has embraced sustainable agricultural projects, including dairy farming and poultry rearing, to generate consistent income. These initiatives support both ministry outreach and community care, enabling the church to serve with dignity, transparency, and long-term impact.
